Where technical information identifies an individual, it will also be handled as personal information under this Policy.
7. AI Assistant
GB Market may provide AI-powered features.
Information submitted to these features may include questions, product information, order information, technical information and associated account information.

Users should not submit passwords, unnecessary sensitive personal information or financial credentials through an AI assistant.
8. Consent and Other Lawful Authority

Some service providers, suppliers, manufacturers, carriers or technology infrastructure used by GB may operate outside Québec or Canada, including in the United States.
Personal information may therefore be processed or stored outside Québec.
Before communicating personal information outside Québec, GB will take the measures required by applicable Québec privacy legislation, including assessing relevant privacy factors and implementing appropriate safeguards where required.
Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws applicable in that jurisdiction.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
GB Market uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Platform:
- authenticate users and maintain sessions;
- remember device preferences such as display settings and language;
- operate account, cart and favourites functionality;
- maintain security and prevent fraud; and
- diagnose errors.
GB Market also records how the Platform is used — pages viewed, searches performed and actions taken on an account or browsing session — in GB's own database, in order to operate, support and improve the service. This information is not used for advertising.
GB Market does not use advertising cookies, advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or third-party advertising or analytics networks.
Because these technologies are necessary to provide GB Market and are not used for advertising or cross-site profiling, GB Market does not currently offer a separate opt-out for them. Browser settings may be used to control cookies, although disabling necessary technologies will prevent GB Market from functioning. If GB later introduces an optional identification, localization or profiling technology, GB will provide the information and controls required by applicable law before doing so.
12. Marketing Communications
GB may use business contact information to send product information, company updates, promotions and other commercial communications where permitted by applicable anti-spam and privacy legislation.
Depending on the circumstances, GB may rely on express consent, legally recognized implied consent, an existing business relationship, an applicable business-to-business exemption or another lawful basis.
Where required, commercial electronic messages will identify GB and provide a functioning unsubscribe mechanism.
Recipients may also manage available marketing preferences through their GB Market account.
An unsubscribe request will not prevent GB from sending transactional or operational communications necessary for quotations, orders, invoices, deliveries, security or an existing business relationship.
13. No Sale of Personal Information
GB does not sell personal information.
GB does not communicate personal information to third parties for their independent use in exchange for payment.
14. Security
GB uses reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the personal information it holds.
These may include access controls, authentication, restricted access, security monitoring, backups, contractual protections and incident-response procedures.
No information system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Retention
GB retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to satisfy legitimate business, accounting, tax, warranty, legal and regulatory requirements.
As a general internal framework, GB may retain:
- customer and account records for the duration of the business relationship and for a reasonable period afterward;
- transaction, invoice and accounting records for at least the period required by applicable tax and accounting laws;
- quotations and commercial correspondence for a reasonable period appropriate to the business relationship;

GB takes reasonable measures to maintain personal information that is accurate, complete and up to date where necessary for the purposes for which it is used.

GB maintains processes to assess and respond to confidentiality incidents involving personal information.
Where required by law, GB will notify affected persons and applicable regulatory authorities of incidents presenting the legally prescribed level of risk.
GB maintains records of confidentiality incidents as required by applicable law.
19. Automated Decisions
If GB uses personal information to make a decision based exclusively on automated processing in circumstances governed by applicable privacy legislation, GB will provide the information and rights required by law.
Ordinary AI-assisted search, customer support or product-retrieval functionality does not necessarily constitute automated decision-making concerning an individual.
20. Third-Party Services
GB Market may contain links to websites and services operated independently by third parties.
GB is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties, and users should review their applicable privacy policies.
21. International Users
Users outside Canada may create GB Market accounts and request quotations.
By interacting with a Québec-based company, their information may be processed in Canada and in other jurisdictions used by GB's service providers.
Additional rights under foreign laws may apply depending on the user's location and GB's activities in that jurisdiction.
22. Privacy Governance
GB maintains policies and practices intended to govern personal information throughout its lifecycle, including collection, access, use, communication, retention, security, destruction and complaint handling.
